John Kelly
John has been licensed to practice in the State of Ohio since 1987. He is currently admitted to practice before all State Courts of Ohio as well as the United States District Courts of Ohio’s Northern and Southern Districts as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. John grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of a steel worker father and a realtor mother. His undergraduate degree is from Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, PA and his law degree is from Capital University School of Law in Columbus. He has resided in central Ohio ever since. John has been a litigator/trial attorney from the outset and has “first-chaired” dozens of jury trials across the State of Ohio and has over 100 bench trials under his belt. John has scars and calluses earned from nearly 40 years of practice, but as a client, you can be assured that there are not many twists or turns that he has not dealt with. John joined Kohl and Cook in 2025 and he stands ready to advise clients as to the risks and benefits of litigation as it relates to the client objectives and if you need to go to the Courthouse, John is the type of lawyer that you want standing next to you.
