Sean P. Casey
Consumer, Foreclosure Defense, and Civil Litigation Lawyer
Sean P. Casey joined Kohl & Cook Law Firm, LLC, as a partner in 2024. He is an experienced litigator, having spent much of his career in an insurance-defense practice, representing commercial carriers in wrongful-death and bodily injury claims. Prior to his work defending the transportation industry, Sean operated a general practice, handling cases of all types, including consumer-protection, small-business, real estate, estate-planning/probate, and creditor/debtor matters.
Sean earned a degree in journalism from Ohio State University, where he was a reporter and copy editor for The Lantern, OSU’s student newspaper. He then worked as a newspaper reporter in Central Ohio for five years, before enrolling at Capital University Law School, where he earned cum laude honors and served as an associate editor of the law review. During and after law school, Sean worked as a law clerk in the legal research department of the Franklin County Municipal Court, helping judges and magistrates craft decisions for their cases. Then, in 2011, the Columbus Bar Association selected him as one of the first participants in an innovative business incubator for new solo practitioners. Sean joined Kohl & Cook to return to his roots of providing practical legal representation to individuals, families, and businesses.
Sean lives in Columbus with his wife, Dilara, and children, Kazim and Tatum.
